So when will names like Skrillex or Deadmau5 become household names? My guess is soon. I guess electronic music was never taken seriously because songs that became hits were terrible and ridiculous. Let's refer to some of the following...
All of these songs have been nominated for best dance recordings in the past 15 years, along with a slew of top40 pop songs. Surprisingly enough, Who Let the Dogs Out? by the Baha Men was the only winner. Now fast forward to 2012...this is what won for best dance recording...
There's a reason why there's no music video...because how are you supposed to make a music video for this???
Regardless, this is quite a step for electronic dance music. For something with next to no market appeal to the mainstream to win three Grammys is incredible. I mean...this is what the guy looks like...
I guess I'm frustrated that I have to start paying attention to the Grammys again...
Thats insane to think that won for best dance recording. not what i would think of dancing to first off. I think it's because this type of music is mostly paired with MDMA and acid and in big cities like LA they have giant 200,000+ people raves every weekend.. It makes sense they would win a grammy based on the amount of people that attend these, but at the same time it makes sense that they weren't on the brodcast.
