WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DANCING????

With artists making "club hits" nowadays, music has become much more danceable...Even bands are doing it.

Let's refer to the amazing choreography that is showcased in this video. The song is "Night by Night" by Chromeo. This song is incredible, and the moves...just look at THE MOVES.

What happened to the moves?...Let's take a look at Flo Rida's "Good Feeling"

With a song like this that has such amazing production quality (not saying the song is good...i'm saying it a very well produced one...lyrically it sucks monkey testicles...), you have to wonder...where is the dancing? Flo...you sampled one of the best dance tracks of 2011 for this song, and it's just you shirtless...and eating food...and running around...I have to ask...where's the dancing? That little part where you go half-time at 2:45 doesn't count...because that's not really dancing man...

These white boys out did you...like 10+ years ago...

or homeboy from Chromeo...who's Jewish...A black man outdanced by this Jewish stud?

let's not forget these other memorable dances from the past 20 years...

This is what's wrong with society....(Not in the slightest bit)

Today's rant is regarding the shown brand. I have a severe problem with Coach. It stems from the company's business model. Coach wants to provide customers with "fashionable consumer luxury" goods. There's a problem with this business model: it's oxymoronic (not to sure that's a word...but still...the concept's there). How do you provide something that is luxurious but also consumer-friendly?

Yes having a Coach bag is excessive, but it's not a luxury. It's not a luxury if almost every other person has a Coach bag. I'm by all means not saying Coach is cheap. What I'm saying is that they've made their products too accessible, and it cheapens the brand. There are plenty of fashionably respectable brands that offer accessories very similarly priced to that of Coach, but they aren't as accessible (Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael by Michael Kors). By limiting access to their product, "luxury" good don't become commodities.

The second problem I have with Coach is branding. I'm not saying that I hate excessive branding because I would be a huge hypocrite. I absolutely love heavy branding. Yes, it's a little pretentious, but hey...you spent the money, you may as well flaunt it. Brands like Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Chanel all have very inconic logos.

Because Coach is a very accessible brand to the public, their "C" print doesn't pack the same punch as other brands that are more selective with their markets. If you're walking around the mall, I would be shocked if you don't see at least two dozen Coach products. Yes, heavy branding is great, only when your brand makes up a small portion of the market, as opposed to dominating it. You almost get desensitized to the brand, and see it as an everyday brand versus a luxury brand.

My last problem with the brand, is not the brand itself, but the clientele. Your Coach bag is not a status symbol. Your Coach bag just means you have that much money, and think you're fashionable...when you're really not. I'm not saying there are people who don't genuinely like Coach, but I'm pretty sure they're in the minority of Coach customers. But for the, I want to say at least 80% of Coach customers, they just don't know any better; you're not fashionable, you're just lazy, and have however much money to spend on whatever.

Thoughts?

Numbers...1,2,4,6,7,8,10,13,14, and 17...you are alright in my book...

Number 3: It's a swimsuit...not safari suit...also...i'd be a little nervous with sarabi in the back there...

Number 5: What the hell is wrong with you...you're already wearing a swimsuit...why do you feel the urge to push your boobs together?

Number 9: Ummm...Swimsuit edition.

Number 11: I guess there's a rule where swimsuits are only allowed in the water?

Number 12: Wtf?...really...since when does a fishnet poncho qualify as a top...but you almost were in the clear with the kissing lips-print bottom...almost...

Number 15: Really?...well let me go home and cut the bottom 2/3 of my t-shirt and call it a top...i believe that look has already been done...

And she went to college...supposedly...errr...maybe?

Number 16: What's going on with your swimsuit...why do you want slits in your swimsuit...are you that desperate for a nip slip?

Well...after evaluating these swimsuits, Number 10, in my opinion, has the best suit. It's a very functional piece, the print is kind of tribal (very missoni-like), and it's very obvious she's in the water (this is why she beat out Number 7...who is on some cliffs).

Who do you think has the best suit?

WHAT IS A SKRILLEX?????

So this year, Skrillex won 3 Grammys. 3 Grammys that no one saw because they were give to him before the broadcast. 3 Grammys that no one saw because they were all of the "electronic" genre; awards for these categories are given out before the telecast.

So when will names like Skrillex or Deadmau5 become household names? My guess is soon. I guess electronic music was never taken seriously because songs that became hits were terrible and ridiculous. Let's refer to some of the following...

All of these songs have been nominated for best dance recordings in the past 15 years, along with a slew of top40 pop songs. Surprisingly enough, Who Let the Dogs Out? by the Baha Men was the only winner. Now fast forward to 2012...this is what won for best dance recording...

There's a reason why there's no music video...because how are you supposed to make a music video for this???

Regardless, this is quite a step for electronic dance music. For something with next to no market appeal to the mainstream to win three Grammys is incredible. I mean...this is what the guy looks like...

I guess I'm frustrated that I have to start paying attention to the Grammys again...
